Mercy Girl Effect Project Detailed by Student Council Exec. Board

Members of the Student Council Executive Board welcomed everyone back to the new school year during Convocation and shared the mission of the Mercy Girl Effect project: supporting young women who are part of Mercy Wings, a vocational school in Guyana. Through a variety of special events during the school year, the board aims to raise $3,000 to support the mission which will help to provide scholarships for girls who attend Mercy Wings and other school needs. At Mercy Wings, students learn trade skills to specialize in a certain field. Young mothers who attend are provided with childcare as well while attending school. Both the scholarships and childcare will help girls and women around the world achieve their way to an education and a better life.
