Faith & Service

Service Days

Service is an integral part of the culture at Mount Saint Mary Academy.

On any given day, one can find a group of students organizing a talent show to benefit disaster relief, a club making sandwiches for a local food pantry, or a class raising awareness for social justice issues. Students are actively engaged in the world and mindful of the needs of others.

Beyond the place service has in daily life at the Mount, the school community convenes throughout the year to give back during Service Days. On these occasions, students, faculty, and staff practice service everywhere - from the Mount campus, where they package food for the needy and prepare care packages for American soldiers, to hospitals, preschools, and nursing homes around the state.

Service Days

In recent years, Mount students, faculty, and staff have participated in the following Service Day activities:
  • Preparation of food packages for Stop Hunger Now
  • Off-campus volunteerism at the Hillside Food Bank, Runnells Hospital, Sage Elder Care, Crossroads School, Options Day School, and Life Choices
  • Preparation of care packages for US troops as part of Operation Shoebox
  • Activities at the House of Prayer and McAuley Hall
