  The Dominic & Janet Gambacorto Endowed Scholarship Fund

  In honor of Sister Lisa Gambacorto’s 25^th anniversary as Directress of Mount Saint Mary Academy, she requested that an endowed scholarship be created in her parents’ name.  Her wish was to honor her parents for all they have done to inspire and care for her.

   

  The Dominic and Janet Gambacorto Scholarship is a tribute to their belief in the transformative power and sustainability of Catholic education.  While neither of them attended college, they felt strongly about education - - and a catholic education --- was a top priority for their three daughters.  Growing up, their family motto was “work hard and be responsible first.”   Each of their daughters received advanced degrees in their areas of expertise.

   

  The criteria for this scholarship is as follows:
  
  

  • • • A girl who personally demonstrates a strong desire to attend the Mount;
      • A girl who has put forth a great deal of effort in her school work;
      • A girl who has recommendation letters from her elementary school as well as parish leader indicating that she is active in her Church and provides community service; and finally,
      • A girl who has parents that have a financial need.
