Carolyn Sheenan, D.M.D., ‘82

Carolyn Sheenan’s roots are in Dunellen, NJ. A 1987 graduate of LaSalle University, she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, followed by a one-year residency in Advanced General Dentistry at Boston University. Then it was home to Dunellen to nurture the roots of a professional career.

Carolyn notes, “As a dentist, I am passionate about providing the highest quality care to my patients. They deserve nothing less.” She maintains that quality of care through seminars, conferences, and courses, and has been  honored with the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award.

In the Mercy tradition, Carolyn is dedicated to giving back to her community. She is a charter member of the Dunellen Education Foundation which supports programs to provide children with the knowledge and skills to succeed in a complex and technology-driven world. She offers annual seminars at Pluckemin’s Cancer Wellness Center, and shares her time and talents fundraising for the Summit Speech School. Closer to home, Carolyn promotes dental health to area school students. She also proudly notes she is a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Carolyn further exemplifies Mercy Core Values by her kindness and generosity to the Sisters. When you mention her to the Sisters, Carolyn’s passion about quality care and professionalism are always remarked on first. Their faces light up as they share how generous, kind, thoughtful, available, and delightful they find her to be. A visit to Carolyn, the dentist, is rarely worrisome!

Carolyn and husband, Joachim, have two wonderful daughters, Elle and Quinn. The family delights in time spent down the shore with grandparents where they enjoy tennis, running, and kayaking in the bay. When she’s not busy at the office, the shore is where you’re sure to find Carolyn!
