Claire Sullivan Tucciarone’s connection to Mount Saint Mary Academy began in 1976 when she earned a merit scholarship to join the Class of 1981, following her sister Margaret (’78) and then was joined by Elizabeth (’82). She graduated cum laude from the College of Saint Elizabeth in 1985 with a double major in Economics and English.
Married for 36 years to her beloved husband John, Claire resides in Warren, where they raised their two children, Connor and Brianna (MSMA ‘16). Together, they operated John Tucciarone Enterprises, a successful plumbing, heating, and contracting business. Claire worked there for 27 years. Claire’s business acumen was strengthened by her 13 year banking career with CoreStates Bank and United Counties Trust.
Rooted in the Mercy Core Value of Service, Claire has long been active in her community. She served as Mercy Guild Vice President (2014–16), worked on Mount fundraisers, and has worked with the University of Scranton assisting their Parents Executive Council for many years. Locally, she volunteers with the Warren Township Recreation Department and the Community Food Bank in Hillside.
As a dedicated alumna, Claire supports the Alumnae Association and is serving her third term on the Mount Saint Mary Academy Board of Trustees, contributing to membership and other committees.
Now retired, Claire enjoys caring for her granddaughters, Alessandra and Juliana. She credits her mother, Margaret B. Sullivan, for the gift of a Mount education and hopes to see the Academy continue to thrive for future generations.
“I have had the grace to see the Mount as a student, alumna, parent, volunteer, and trustee—it has been enriching on every level. It’s an honor to pay the Core Values forward.”
