May Crowning & Grandparent Tea: A Mount Tradition

Michelle H. Daino
A special May Crowning Liturgy was celebrated last Friday morning in Immaculate Conception Chapel by the Mount Saint Mary Academy community, led by Monsignor William Benwell. The proud grandparents of freshmen and sophomores also attended the Liturgy.

Sister Lisa Gambacorto, RSM, Ed.S., Directress, offered a warm welcome to the grandparents before they were blessed by Monsignor.

She said, “In each generation, the role of grandparents is essential, and I believe for this generation, having a relationship with grandparents is more critical than ever before as our girls learn so much from your presence in their lives.”

“Thank you for coming and celebrating the Eucharist with us, and thank you for being mentor, friend, teacher, caretaker, family historian and hero,” concluded Sister Lisa.

Following the crowning ceremony of the Blessed Mother statue, the grandparents went to the Sister Lisa Gambacorto Theater where they will enjoy a lovely tea with their granddaughters and family members.
