On September 19, the Mount Saint Mary Academy Alumnae Association sponsored a visit to freshmen from Ann Beth Stebbins '82, a partner at the global law firm, Skadden Arps.

While partaking in refreshments, the freshmen were greeted by JoAnn Rojek Minnicino ’74, Alumnae Association President who explained the various events that are planned by the association and the Office of Institutional Advancement.

“I hope your first few weeks haven’t been stressful,” she told the students. “My greatest wish is for you to come to love the Mount as much as I do.”

Mrs. Minnicino shared that Ann Beth studied at Georgetown University and Georgetown Law. She earned an MBA at New York University Stern School of Business. Over the span of her 30-year career, she has advised corporate clients, investment banks and private equity funds on multi-billion-dollar merger and acquisition transactions, including the recent sale of the Tom Ford brand to Estee Lauder.

While Ann Beth is based in New York, she has also worked in Skadden Arps’ Washington, D.C., London, and Hong Kong offices. She is currently an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School.

Her sister, Karen Bejgrowicz Tennyson '91, is also a graduate of Mount Saint Mary Academy.

Kathleen Staudt, Director of the Office of Institutional Advancement, said, “Ann Beth spoke to the students about sisterhood and the stellar education they are fortunate to receive at the Mount. She told them about having Jon Bon Jovi perform on our stage many times during school dances. She also urged them to ‘take it all in’ and assured them that they are at the beginning of a magnificent journey.”

“She reiterated several times that the girls they are sitting next to today, will likely be their friends for a lifetime,” added Mrs. Staudt. “She reinforced this by sharing that she stays in close touch with about 10 of her Mount friends and that at their last reunion, they were able to contact every single member of the Class of 1982. She told them that she wishes she could be where they are now - those four years were just that wonderful.”
