This spring, 168 students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades of Mount Saint Mary Academy took 421 AP Exams in 21 different subjects: Biology, Calculus AB, Chemistry, Comparative Government and Politics, Computer Science A, Computer Science Principles, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Environmental Science, Italian Language and Culture, Latin, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Music Theory, Physics 1, Precalculus, Psychology, Spanish Language and Culture, Statistics, United States Government and Politics, and United States History.
AP Exams are scored on a scale of 1-5, with scores of 3 and higher indicating a student’s exam performance is “qualified to receive college credit and/or placement in the subject area” according to the College Board. This year, nearly 80 percent of Mount Saint Mary Academy student exams earned a score of 3 or higher. Additionally, 17 of the 21 subjects recorded an average exam score of 3 or higher, and 9 of those subjects reflected an average exam score of 4 or higher.
“I would like to congratulate our students for their tremendous accomplishments and impressive scores this year,” stated Jacqueline Muratore, Assistant Directress. “The outstanding performance of our students on the AP Exams is a product of their hard work and dedication throughout their time here at the Mount, as well as the high-quality instruction and unwavering support of our teaching Faculty. This success reflects our commitment to academic excellence and the bright futures awaiting our students in college and beyond.”
